Picking

Cotton bursting from the boll ready to harvest.

A field of cotton prior to picking. About 100 hectares

Cotton pickers work the field, picking every second row.

When the picker is full, it empties its load into the boll buggy.

Depending on the yield of the crop, the boll buggy may meet the picker mid row or at the end of each row.

The boll buggy unloads into the cotton module builder.

Picking takes place in Australia between March and April. It ususally takes 4-5 weeks to complete.
